Adopt Your Drain provides residents of Southeastern Wisconsin the opportunity to protect their watershed and communities without leaving their front yard.
Goals of the Adopt Your Drain program:
Raise awareness of stormwater pollution across Southeastern Wisconsin
Create opportunities for community wide participation & involvement.
Track and report progress on how much debris is being prevented from entering our fresh waterways each year.
What does it mean to Adopt Your Drain?
Whether it’s leaves, garbage, or another material blocking a drain, drains should be cleared to prevent street flooding and to prevent litter from being washed down the drain and into local waterways.
Through the Adopt Your Drain program, Sweet Water helps Wisconsinites clean and care for local storm drains. We also help “adopters” make their mark by formally registering their adoption with our mapping tool!
